About The Event

For young people considering journalism as a career, understanding the profession requires more than knowing what course to study. It requires exposure to career opportunities, professional skills, challenges, ethical responsibilities, and the social significance of journalism.

Career in Journalism 2027 is envisioned as a one-day platform bringing together aspiring young journalists, students, educators, experienced journalists, media professionals, and other stakeholders to explore the profession from multiple perspectives.

The event will examine not only how to build a career in journalism but also what it means to practice journalism responsibly and contribute to society through credible and ethical work.

Understanding the Role of Journalism in Society

Why does journalism matter to society? Responsible journalism plays an important role in creating an informed society. The event will explore how journalism can contribute to public awareness, informed citizenship, accountability, social understanding and nation building.
